Two housekeeping notes before getting after it:

1. Welcome to all new paid subscriber members! For those on the X platform, please go to @macrostratpb and request a follow. Then direct message me on the Substack platform and let me know your X-handle.

2. Legacy paid subscribers have asked if the recent subscription price increase affects their pricing. The answer is no. Your rate is grandfathered in and is not changing.

Now onto the good stuff.

The nomination of Kevin Warsh to lead the Federal Reserve is the latest piece of “Liberation Day” fallout to hit the information surface. While the commentariat is busy clutching pearls over institutional independence, our task is to peel back the onion of the policy reaction function and find the signal in the noise.
